True North Management LLC is a Delaware limited liability company, incorporated December 2019, with operations based in Portland, Oregon, and owned by K.O. Mathew. True North provides executive leadership, financial control, and governance to businesses acquired through our affiliated investment activities; it does not itself acquire or hold ownership stakes. Ownership of these businesses sits with the principal, an affiliated entity, or a related investment vehicle established for that purpose — separately from True North's management role.
Leadership. K.O. Mathew is Managing Director and principal owner of True North Management LLC. Over more than two decades, he has founded, built, acquired, and personally managed operating businesses and education organizations in the United States and internationally. True North is the platform through which that operational leadership is now carried forward — directing the management of businesses within the group and maintaining operational control across them.
True North operates as an active, hands-on management company — not a passive advisory or administrative service, and not a firm that manages on behalf of unrelated third parties. We work exclusively with businesses acquired through our own affiliated investment activities, exercising real operational control on their behalf. Our role is governed by written agreements, disciplined reporting, and operational and financial controls documented to a standard that supports audit, investor, and regulatory review.
